Product description

The Marzuddu is the mandarin that arrives when all other mandarins are gone. šŸŠ It ripens in March, hence its name, and is a local Sicilian variety: it doesn't come from grafts or laboratory cross-breeding; it grew naturally in the island's countryside.

It has the strongest scent of all and a full sweetness, with a hint of acidity that sustains the flavor. It has seeds, like all true mandarins. Little of it is harvested, and only for a few weeks.

What it's like

  • Very juicy pulp, sweet with an acidic note
  • Intense and persistent aroma
  • Thin, bright orange peel, easily removed
  • Contains seeds, unlike clementines

How to use it

  • šŸŠ Fresh: the best way to experience its aroma
  • 🄤 Juiced: sweet and fragrant, strain to remove seeds
  • šŸ° In pastry: marmalades and syrups
  • šŸø In liqueurs: it's the mandarin used to make mandarinello

šŸ“… Season: March only. It's a local variety with a short window.

🚚 We harvest upon order and ship within 24 hours.

Product storage

Mandarins have thin skin and do not keep as long as oranges. Store them in a cool, dry, and airy place, in a single layer, away from heat sources. They will last about ten days this way.

In the refrigerator, in the fruit drawer, they can last up to two weeks. Do not store them below four degrees Celsius, as the skin will stain. Take them out half an hour before consuming them.

Check them every two or three days and immediately remove any soft fruit, as it will contaminate the nearby ones. Wash the fruit before consuming it. If you want to use the peel in cooking, first check that the product has not been treated after harvesting.

Ingredients

Late Sicilian mandarins 100%. No added ingredients.

Domande frequenti

ƈ possibile richiedere confezioni regalo, ordini personalizzati o collaborazioni?

SƬ, siamo a disposizione per spedizioni personalizzate, forniture speciali, regali aziendali e collaborazioni commerciali. Puoi contattarci direttamente via email o WhatsApp per definire ogni dettaglio.
