Product description

The Ippolito is the first Tarot orange to ripen. 🍊 It has the same thin skin and mottled flesh as the parent variety, but it arrives as early as mid-December, when other blood oranges have yet to color.

It is a selection born in the citrus groves between Catania and Syracuse and cultivated here in Scordia. Those who know it await it for this reason: it opens the blood orange season with an already sweet fruit, without the acidity of early oranges.

Product storage

Store oranges in a cool, dry, and airy place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Keep them in one or two layers in a wide basket, without stacking them: the weight bruises the fruits underneath, and that's where mold starts. This way, they will last three or four weeks.

In the refrigerator, in the fruit drawer, they will last up to two weeks. Take them out an hour before consuming them, as they don't taste as good when cold.

Check the basket once a week and immediately remove any bruised fruit, as it will contaminate the others. Wash the fruit before consuming it. If you want to use the peel in cooking, first check that the product has not been treated after harvesting.
